Make menswear

I’ve become obsessed with making button-up shirts recently. Thankfully, Paul and I both love wearing them!

Him in a Gosling shirt, McCall’s bomber jacket and Ottobre jeans.
Her in a floral A-line Libby skirt, linen Archer shirt and Hampton Jean Jacket

I have been making these two Gosling shirts for the past few months, so it was satisfying to complete them. They are pretty quick to put together, but I have been focusing on making garments for myself.

The size of these shirts is the same as previous versions which can be viewed under the menswear section of my blog. I feel like I have finally mastered the art of a good collar! I no longer fear doing the burrito method on my collar stand. Grainline has an awesome tutorial on this method.

The floral fabric is a cotton sateen from Drapers Fabrics and the crayfish is a cotton viscose from friends destash. The buttons were purchased from Pete’s Emporium in Porirua.

Brightening our mood with a bit of dopamine dressing!

I saw this Christmas fabric and knew my Dinosaur T-shirt enthusiast would love it! I cut it out and sewed it up on the overlocker the day before Christmas. I used a zig-zag stitch for the hems.

I have been working on some men’s bathing togs so will share the results soon!

Happy sewing
