The Assembly Line V-neck Jumpsuit

I have been wanting more jumpsuits which I can style for work or play. I came across this V-neck Jumpsuit pattern by The Assembly Line and thought it would be a perfect pairing with this Japanese wool suiting which I recently purchased from The Fabric Store.

This pattern has a relaxed fit with a dropped crotch, buttons or snaps at the front and 3/4 long sleeves. It features pockets in side seams and an optional belt. Before cutting into the fabric I thought there might be a little too much length of the body for me but decided to work with the pattern as designed.

This garment came together so smoothly! I made no alterations to the pattern. The size medium is a perfect fit. Next time I will remove 1.5 inches from the waist of the pattern to reduce the drop crotch. The only thing I did differently was to add belt loops to the side seams for the tie belt. I was surprised the pattern didn’t include these but these are an easy addition! I went with large snaps for my closure to make it easier to take the jumpsuit on and off – it’s also what I had in my stash.

Jumpsuits are a new addition to my wardrobe so I’m still learning how to style them. If you have any tips let me know in the comments! Here are a few examples of how I have styled this jumpsuit during Me Made May

Having a wool jumpsuit is so cosy! We are coming into winter so I’m going to wear this a lot. This garment is my definition of secret pyjamas.

I think it’s lovely. I would wear brogues laced up or plimsolls with no laces. Love the pattern.
