This dress is one which really sums up my style. Smart casual featuring a lot of solid colour and playful prints. I was inspired by the Gorman dress below which featured in one of their recent collections.
I love the play between the solid black and the naive printed fabric. I decided to use the Kielo dress pattern as the base adding the sleeves to mimic the Gorman dress. I used medium weight knit and a liberty knit purchased from The Fabric Store for the back fabric. I used cotton bias binding for the neckline. The whole dress was sewn on the overlocker and the hems were finished using a twin needle.
I used the free sleeve expansion and added the sleeve to my dress. My love of the Kielo pattern from Named is also documented here.
